Work of bus driver wins him award

A BUS driver has been praised by his bosses after being voted winner of Lothian Buses’ “Happy to Help” award by commuters.

Bartosz Lechowski was ­chosen for his polite manner and patience with passengers, particularly those who required help to board services.

The firm said Mr Lechowski had only recently joined, but he had been impressive.

George McKendrick, operations manager at Lothian Buses said: “For a driver who has just recently joined us in July, Bartosz has adapted very quickly to the high standards expected by our company.

“He is well liked and highly regarded by his peers, managers and passengers.”

David Griffiths, chief ­executive of disabled charity ECAS, said: “It was a pleasure to present Bartosz with the ­trophy and to hear about the work he does.”
