Work begins at Tranent library site

GROUNDWORKS have got under way at the new Tranent library and council office site, with brick and mortar construction expected to begin next month.

The 1.8 million project, due for completion next summer, will see the council's antisocial behaviour and environmental health teams relocating to the new premises.

Councillor Ruth Currie, cabinet member for community wellbeing, said: "I am thrilled that work is finally about to start on what will be a focal point for the Tranent community."
