Woman treated after appliance blaze

A WOMAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire started in her fridge-freezer.

The 42-year-old awoke at around 3.40am this morning to find the kitchen well alight and the tenement flat, on Comiston Road, full of smoke. The block was evacuated as 13 firefighters put out the blaze.

The kitchen was badly damaged and the rest of the flat was affected by smoke damage.

Firefighters do not yet know exactly how the fire started, and it is not known whether the fridge-freezer was the Beko brand.
