The 23-year-old driver of the black Renault Clio car was uninjured. Inspector Scott Mann of the force's road policing department said:

"We would obviously ask anyone who witnessed this collision to get in touch."

Meanwhile, a 61-year-old man died yesterday following a crash on the A90 Aberdeen to Perth road at Forfar Road in Dundee.

The man, who is yet to be named, was driving a red Vauxhall Vivaro van. A report is to be sent to the procurator-fiscal.
