Woman seeks love with coffee cup appeal

Lynne Adams, 37, had been single for a year when she gave in to her friends’ calls to join the online dating scene.

She met potential suitors in Edinburgh and Glasgow cafés and knew her ideal man should share her love of a cup of coffee.

The finance worker was then offered an opportunity to boost her luck by having a picture of herself printed on coffee cups by dating website match.com.

Now the cups are being handed out to potential matches at Cup in Glasgow.

Ms Adams said: “I’m quite a busy person so unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time to go out and see people. I realised that no-one is going to come knocking on your door.

“I then gave in to online dating and started going on quite a few dates, but not a lot of them have led to a second date yet.

“Coffee is a perfect first date. iIt takes a lot of the pressure out of having to buy dinner for someone or get dressed up – particularly if you’re not sure that you like the guy.”

Ms Adams has been single for two years and signed up to the dating site about four months before she was offered the coffee deal.

The coffee cup features her profile picture and some basic information, including name, age and interests.
