Woman sacked over relationship with boy

A SCOTTISH social worker has been struck off after she admitted forming an "inappropriate" relationship with a 15-year-old boy in her care.

Tracey Hannah, 39, was sacked after bosses at the Lanarkshire secure unit where she worked discovered her illicit relationship with the teenager, who was serving a sentence for culpable homicide.

The residential care worker, who had 11 years' experience, admitted "failing to maintain professional boundaries" by "allowing an unprofessional and inappropriate" relationship to develop with the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

At a Scottish Social Services Council in Dundee yesterday, she was removed from the register after admitting four charges of misconduct.
