Woman rushed to hospital after Arthur's Seat fall

A woman has been hospitalised after a terrifying fall during a walk on Arthur's Seat.

The woman sustained “serious injuries” after slipping near St Anthony’s Chapel just after 1pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the injured woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary at around 2pm.

It is understood the woman suffered a “injuries to the leg,” but none are thought to be life threatening.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 1314 hours today to attend an incident on Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh.”

“Our specialist multi-terrain operations team were dispatched to the scene and once the female patient was safely extracted and treated they were taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by road ambulance.”
