Woman rescued from 'suspicious' fire

A FLAT fire which resulted in a woman being taken to hospital is believed to be suspicious.

The blaze broke out shortly after 5am yesterday in the Moorelands area of Addiewell, West Lothian. The 48-year-old woman had to be rescued by two firefighters from her first-floor living room window.

She was taken to St John's Hospital, Livingston, as a precaution and was discharged. Lothian and Borders Police appealed for any witnesses. A spokesman said: "Inquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing, however the fire is believed to be suspicious."
