Woman hurt in flat blaze

AN elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a small fire broke out at a flat in Musselburgh in the early hours of Thursday.

The fire started on Stoneybank Place shortly after 5am, with a neighbour contacting the fire service after hearing a smoke alarm.

A woman, thought to be in her 60, was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Two appliances from Musselburgh and Newcraighall attended.
