Woman hurt in car smash

A WOMAN was taken to hospital suffering from neck and back pain after a two-car collision.

The accident took place on the city's Broomhouse Road at around 5pm yesterday.

Firefighters assisted paramedics to remove the 51-year-old woman from one of the vehicles. She was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
