Woman facing assault charge

A YOUNG woman has appeared at court charged with taking part in assaults on lone women

Roxanne King, whose address was given only as Edinburgh, was remanded in custody and made no plea or declaration at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday to face three charges of assault and robbery, and one charge of attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

She has been committed for further examination, and is due to appear at court again next week

Lothian and Borders Police charged the 20-year-old, along with a 15-year-old male, in connection with four incidents in the Leith area in October and December. All of the alleged assaults were carried out against lone females.

A report has been sent to the Children's Reporter in respect of the teenager.
