Woman faces charges over two robberies

A WOMAN has been arrested and charged with two alleged assaults and robberies as part of an ongoing police crackdown on street crime.

The 28-year-old was to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday. She was detained by officers carrying out inquiries through Operation Arable, a campaign aimed at combating muggers in the Capital, following two alleged incidents in West Adam Street and Nicolson Square.

A sum of cash was taken from a 27-year-old man at West Adam Street, while a 20-year-old woman had her phone stolen in Nicolson Square.
