Woman faces assault charge

A WOMAN has been arrested and charged with assault following an alleged disturbance in a Lothian town.

The 19-year-old was detained by police following the incident in Hardgate, in Haddington, on Sunday.

Police were carrying out high-visibility patrols in the town over the weekend.

On Friday, officers issued a fixed penalty notice to a 16-year-old boy for breaching the local drinking byelaws.

The following day police arrested a 30-year-old male for a breach of the peace.
