Woman dies in hospital a week after rescue from house fire

A WOMAN has died in hospital a week after a fire at her home, police said today.

Aileen Lindsay, 51, was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary suffering from burns and smoke inhalation after she was rescued from the fire on February 14.

She died yesterday.

Five of her family members were also in the house on Lynn Walk in Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, when the blaze broke out shortly after midnight.

They were her 22-year-old son, 28-year-old daughter, 30-year-old son-in-law and their two children aged three and seven, who all got out of the house safely.

Strathclyde Police said that inquiries into the cause of the fire were continuing and appealed for information.
