Woman attacked at home

A YOUNG woman was tied up and robbed after a man posing as a courier forced his way into the house where she was staying.

The 25-year-old was said to have been left traumatised by the incident, which left her requiring hospital treatment.

Strathclyde Police said the victim was in a house in Church Street, Larkhall, South Lanarkshire, around 11:15am on Thursday when a man came to the door, saying he was from a courier company.

When she questioned his claim, he forced his way into the house and tied her up.

He then searched the property and fled with some Indian-designed jewellery.

The woman managed to contact officers around an hour later. She was taken to Wishaw General Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

The suspect is described as 30-50 years old and 6ft tall.
