Woman arrested as police launch murder inquiry in Inverness

A MURDER inquiry has been launched today after a man died in hospital.

The 44-year-old man was found injured in a property in Maxwell Drive, Inverness, this morning. A 33-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said: "Police were called to an address in Maxwell Drive at 8am today by ambulance staff, who reported that a man had been seriously injured within the property.

"The man was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment but later died.

"Police are continuing inquiries into incident and a full scene of crime examination is being carried out. Police are now treating the inquiry as a murder."

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
