Woman, 83, injured as handbag stolen

An ELDERLY woman needed 12 stitches to her head following an attack, police have said.

The incident happened around 7:10pm on Monday outside the Corstorphine Library, Kirk Loan, Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders Police said the 83-year-old victim was grabbed and forced her to the ground by two women, who then stole her handbag.
