Witness plea after bid to grab teenager

A TEENAGE girl fought off a man who grabbed her by the arm and refused to let go as she walked along a lane.

The 16-year-old had entered the lane heading towards Eskdale Terrace in the Dobbie's Road area of Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, when a man seized hold of her.

The girl kicked out at the suspect and broke free before running from the lane and on to Eskdale Terrace.

Police are now keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed anything suspicious. The incident took place at around 11:30am on Monday.

The suspect is described as white, with a medium build and short dark brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue T-shirt, bleached blue jeans and white trainers.

A police spokesman said: "During this incident, the suspect did not speak with the girl and made no threats. Nevertheless, it left her feeling shaken and deeply upset."
