Windsurfer rescued in strong winds

A WINDSURFER was taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia after being rescued by coastguard when he was blown offshore in strong winds.

Lifeboats were launched at Irvine, north of Troon, at about 3pm yesterday. A police helicopter was used to help find the 28-year-old Glasgow man.
