Winds halt bridge closures

THREE overnight closures of the Forth Road Bridge have been cancelled after high winds were forecast.

The crossing had been due to shut completely for a three-hour spell in the early hours of tomorrow, Thursday and Friday to allow the removal of the “dropped object canopy” which protected bridge users while painters worked above on the north main tower. The work will now take place next week.
