Whistleblower line receives more calls

CALLS to a whistleblowers' helpline hit a record high last year, aided by a rise from workers in financial firms, new figures show.

Public Concern at Work said it got 1,685 calls in 2009, with the increased volume continuing in recent months. Claims under whistleblowing legislation also increased, the group added.
