Whisky to be dram pricey

A RARE bottle of whisky is set to raise up to £20,000 at auction – the equivalent of several hundred pounds a dram.

The Glenlivet, distilled in 1883 and bottled in 1931 by George & John Gordon Smith, is to be sold by Bonhams at its whisky sale in the Capital on October 12.

The bottle, said to have “an impeccable pedigree”, was originally owned by Captain William Smith Grant, great grandson of Colonel George Smith, founder of The Glenlivet Distillery.
