Ms Davidson was tagged in 51 posts (13 per cent of the total) over the period from Feb 27 to April 27.

The drift in the rankings between Ms Sturgeon and Ms Davidson comes despite the Conservative leader embarking on a series of fun and highly photogenic campaign stunts, such as riding a bull bareback on an Aberdeenshire farm.

Just over half of posts (51 per cent) tagged with Ruth Davidson carried a picture of the party leader.
