A DISABLED man who is thought to have thrown himself from a wheelchair off a bridge into the River Don in Aberdeen is recovering in hospital.

The 35 year-old, who has not been named, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after he was rescued from the river on Monday night in an operation involving an RAF search and rescue helicopter, police and the Coastguard.
