West Lothian man dies after Loch Fyne dive

A DIVER who was a member of a West Lothian club has died after getting into trouble off the Cowal coast of Loch Fyne

Police Scotland confirmed that a 40-year-old man, a member of a sub aqua club based in Bathgate, died after diving near Lephin Chapel, by Otter Ferry.

His diving partner, understood to be a member of the same club, was taken by Coastguard helicopter to the hyperbaric chamber at Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory near Oban.

Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that two Dunoon-based road ambulances and Helimed, with its Glasgow-based trauma team, attended the incident.

HM Coastguard confirmed that its helicopter, along with Dunoon Coastguard Rescue Team, was tasked by the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend.
