West Lothain Police appeal over sex assault

Police are investigating a sexual assault on a teenage girl.

The 18-year-old reported the rape after being attacked in the George Street area of Bathgate, West Lothian. Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area to come come forward.

The teenager is believed to have been attacked as she walked through a car park behind George Street.

Detective Inspector Phil Gachagan said: " "I would ask anyone who was in the area, particularly patrons of the Twig nightclub who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, to contact the police."
