West End traffic chaos as two buses crash

A COLLISION between two buses caused major congestion on a key route into the city centre.

Motorists reported a lane was completely blocked when the incident happened in Torphichen Street at lunchtime today.

Bosses at Lothian Buses said there was a “minor” crash between one of their vehicles and one belonging to another operator.

There were no reports of injuries and the blockage was cleared quickly, they added.

A spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that there was a minor collision with one of our vehicles and another bus operator.

“The vehicles were quickly moved to allow the traffic to continue to flow and avoid any disruption.
