Webster trial told of return air ticket

A MAN accused of trying to kill his wife in a plot to pocket thousands in life insurance travelled abroad with her on a return plane ticket, a court has heard.

Malcolm Webster moved to Auckland, New Zealand - where his second wife Felicity Drumm was from - with her and their baby son in November 1998.

The High Court in Glasgow was told he was granted a visitor's permit and travelled on a return ticket. Former immigration manager Michael Loulanting said Webster would have been "very successful" if he had applied for residency.
