Website drive to cut crashes

DEATH and serious accident statistics on Lothian roads can now be accessed online as part of new road safety campaign.

The website www.dontriskit.info allows users to enter their postcode or area to access local statistics between 2004 and 2008.

A total of 1,191 fatalities and serious accidents occurred in Lothian and Borders in that period, and 38 per cent of those seriously injured were aged 16-34. Male drivers are more at risk.
