Weather warning: Met Office issues yellow weather warning of heavy rain for north east Scotland

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of heavy rain on Friday and Saturday for the North east of Scotland.

Areas predicted to be affected by the heavy rain include, Aberdeen, Stonehaven, Montrose, Dundee and Perth.

The Met Office has said heavy rain will occur between 3am on Friday, December 11 and 12pm on Saturday, December 12.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “Heavy rain will fall throughout Friday and into Saturday morning across parts of eastern Scotland with accumulations around 40-60 mm, but with the potential for 100 mm over high ground.”

Bus and train services will probably be affected with journey times taking longer, according to the weather experts.

Spray and flooding on roads will also probably making journey times longer and flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.
