Outstanding video shows the moment an optimistic woman helps push a milk lorry up an icy hill in Fife

In the video the woman can be seen putting all her weight behind the lorry in an attempt to help it climb up a hill in the challenging weather conditions.

The video, from Fife Jammer Locations Facebook page was filmed in Cowdenbeath in Fife on Tuesday as snowy weather continued to cause traffic havoc across the country.

The Graham’s Family Dairy lorry was moving slowly up the street, struggling to get a grip on the slippery ground.

The video looks to have been filmed from a window overlooking the street and captures the moment that the optimistic woman did her best to help push the huge vehicle up the slope.

A bus in Glasgow found itself in a similar position on Monday as conditions worsened, with the driver struggling to manoeuvre up a snowy hill while the vehicle threatened to drift across the street into parked cars.

A car in Edinburgh was also caught on video struggling to make it up the Royal Mile in the snow, eventually requiring the help of a couple of friendly passers-by to help push it up the hill.

The treacherous weather conditions won’t be going anywhere anytime soon as the Met Office has extended its weather warnings for snow and ice across much of Scotland until Friday.

Temperatures are expected to fall as far as -9C in Inverness and Perth, -7C in Stirling, -6C in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, and -5C in Aberdeen by Wednesday night.

On Tuesday a ten-year low of -16.7C was recorded in Sutherland, and as the weather warnings are extended temperatures are expected to continue dropping to equal or beat that recent low.
