Tonight will be a cold night with clear spells throughout the country, although some thicker cloud at times for the Central Belt. Showers, wintry on hills, will persist in the north and west. Wednesday is expected to be a cold and unsettled day with bands of rain in northern Scotland bringing some snow above 200m. Drier for southern areas, but there is a chance of showers or even longer outbreaks of rain later.
