Scotland’s first snowfall of the year has caused disruption with many school closures and delayed opening times, and more could be on the way.

The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning over parts of Scotland with some areas likely to face disruption following the extension of the weather warning until Sunday.

Yellow weather warnings have been issued for ice and snow for parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and parts of England amid an arctic blast that has resulted in a cold snap for much of the country.
