Scotland weather: This is when snow and ice will hit much of the country

The Met Office has issued weather warnings for much of Scotland.

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for snow and ice for much of Scotland.

The warnings are in place from 9pm on Wednesday through to 10am on Thursday morning.The agency says some roads and railways are likely to affected with “longer journey times by road, bus and train services.”

The Met Office also warns of “some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.” and “probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.”

The yellow weather warning covers Edinburgh and the Lothians, Grampians, Highlands, Dumfries and Galloway, Borders, Central Scotalnd, Tayside and Fife and Strathclyde.
