The Met Office has said that heavy rain is likely to cause travel disruptions, warning that homes and businesses could be flooded, and spray and flooding on the roads will increase journey times.
Buses and trains could also be affected.
A spokesperson from the Met Office said: “A spell of persistent and heavy rain is expected to affect western Scotland during Tuesday.
“Widespread rainfall totals of 40-60 mm are expected with as much as 80-100 mm over some high ground exposed to the strong south-westerly winds.
“Much of this rainfall will fall in around 12 hours during the middle part of the day.”
