In pictures: Scotland sizzles in spring sunshine
Glasgow has experienced highs of up to 23C this afternoon while Fraserburgh saw temperatures of just 10C.
Highland towns such as Halkirk were overcast but warm at 11C, the city of Inverness saw 15C of heat poke its way through the clouds, the Orkney Islands were cloudy at 11C, the Isle of Skye boasted bright clear skies and warm temperatures of 13C and Aberdeen reached 13C with thick cloud covering the city.

Elsewhere in the UK, the final day of spring has served up a mixed bag of results weather-wise.
The people of Torquay, Devon, have been enjoying the sun with temperatures of around 20C, while schoolchildren on half-term in Swansea, Wales, have been making the most of the weather by tucking into ice creams for breakfast.
There have been sunny skies over Belfast too today. Temperatures in the city are encroaching on 20C with a light breeze of about 10 mph sweeping through the Northern Irish capital.
However, this hasn’t been the case across the whole of the UK, the east is experiencing colder weather with heavy rain and cloudy skies.
In Newcastle Upon Tyne, mid-morning temperatures sat at around 10C while London has been overcast and wet.
Tomorrow is forecast to be mainly warm and dry throughout Scotland with the exception of the south east which is likely to cloudy with scattered showers.
