Elsewhere in the UK, the final day of spring has served up a mixed bag of results weather-wise.

The people of Torquay, Devon, have been enjoying the sun with temperatures of around 20C, while schoolchildren on half-term in Swansea, Wales, have been making the most of the weather by tucking into ice creams for breakfast.

There have been sunny skies over Belfast too today. Temperatures in the city are encroaching on 20C with a light breeze of about 10 mph sweeping through the Northern Irish capital.

However, this hasn’t been the case across the whole of the UK, the east is experiencing colder weather with heavy rain and cloudy skies.
