As Storm Jonas has ravaged America’s east coast, the sight of a world famous city buried under snow has become a familiar sight.

The pictures aim to highlight the false sense of security which people have relaxed into thanks to a ‘warm winter’.
Danny Stewart, an Edinburgh-based Scottish Gas engineer warned “There’s nothing better than a cosy home during winter but issues with your heating or boiler could leave you out in the cold.
“To avoid running into problems, I would encourage everyone to undertake some simple checks to make sure that their homes are warm and working properly.
