Weather warning for Hogmanay revellers

HOGMANAY revellers have been warned to expect cold conditions with temperatures set to plummet in the early hours of 2013.

Showers are forecast to turn into snow on higher ground this evening, with the wintry conditions to continue overnight into tomorrow morning, the Met Office said today.

The public have been advised to be careful of slippery conditions on all roads and pavements.

Temperatures are expected to hit 2C as party goers in Edinburgh welcome the bells at midnight.
