We won’t be left flagging behind . .

THOUSANDS of runners were today shaking off their festive excesses as they took on the 5k Bupa Great Winter Run at Holyrood Park.

Around 2500 were due to take part ahead of the Bupa Great Edinburgh XCountry, featuring athletes from across the world.

On the starting line were athletes representing Great Britain, Ireland, Ukraine, USA, Kenya and Ethiopia.
