Warrant for fraud accused

A SHERIFF has issued a warrant against an NHS nursing assistant accused of defrauding the health service of almost £10,000 after she failed to turn up to court.

Elizabeth Pryde, 49, of Gorebridge, Midlothian was due to face the charge at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday but failed to appear.

Pryde allegedly continued to work as a nursing assistant in a council-run care home whilst on sick leave from NHS Lothian and in receipt of statutory and occupational sick pay.
