Warning on rail trespass

CHILDREN are being warned of the dangers of playing close to railways ahead of the Easter holidays.

The British Transport Police (BTP) said Easter was also a time when incidents such as stone throwing, putting obstructions in front of trains, trespassing and vandalism increased.

Chief Superintendent Ellie Bird, area commander for the Scottish area of BTP, said: "Anyone who messes about near the railway puts themselves in great danger."
