Warning on break-ins

POLICE today warned residents with sheds and garages to be on their guard against a rise in break-ins that typically takes place in spring. Officers are encouraging owners to use good quality lighting, CCTV cameras and alarms in a bid to deter thieves.

A police spokesman said: "All members of the community are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police."
