Ward meal plan praised

A PROJECT to allow patients to eat their hospital meals without the interruption of visits has been hailed a success.

Nurses trying to feed a ward find a constant flow of visitors a source of irritation, delaying they delivery of food and pressuring time for other tasks.

As a result a "protected" mealtime scheme was launched by two nurses, who placed posters around a ward at the Royal Victoria hospital urging families to allow a short timeframe purely for meals.
