Walker missing

A MAJOR search was under way yesterday for a man swept out to sea off the south-west coast of Ireland.

The man, thought to be aged 19 and from Scotland, was walking along the shore under cliffs near Baltimore, Co Cork on Saturday morning when he was struck by a wave and carried into the water.

A friend was also knocked into the sea but managed to get out and raise the alarm.
