Votes warning over electoral roll forms

RESIDENTS belonging to more than 90,000 households in the Capital risk losing their vote because they have not returned their electoral registration forms.

Each year, the Electoral Registration Office sends out registration forms to 233,000 households in Edinburgh to update the electoral roll.

So far, only 141,000 have been returned.

Joan Hewton, electoral registration officer for Edinburgh, said: "Everyone should check and return this form, even if they completed one the year before, or they risk being removed from the electoral register. In particular, anyone who has moved house or changed name will need to register their new details."
