Vittoria's to host Italian fundraiser

Vittoria's on George IV Bridge is hosting a fundraising evening to support the victims of one of Italy's most recent natural disasters.

The eaterie has invited members of Edinburgh's Italian community to a special dinner event, held in partnership with the Italian charity Arti e Spettacolo, with the hope of raising more than 1000.

The organisation provides relief and support for the victims of the L'Aquilla earthquake, which struck the Abruzzo region of central Italy in 2009, killing 308 people and leaving hundreds homeless.

The fundraiser will take place tonight.

Owner Tony Crolla said: "What better way to bring the community together than a fundraising event. This night gives us a real opportunity to put something back and help our fellow Italians when they need it most."
