Vital scooter lost

A NINETY-YEAR-OLD pensioner has had his mobility scooter stolen from his garage.

Roland Hodgson, who has arthritis, was stunned to find the £2000 scooter and its charger had been taken from his home off Ferry Road. He has been told by his insurance company that there will be no pay-out because there was no sign entry to the garage was forced.

Mr Hodgson said he depended on the scooter to get around and struggles to travel more than 100 yards in the walker provided by his GP.

“I am pretty angry. It’s a burglary and whether it was done with a key or forced entry, the scooter was stolen,” he said.
