Virtual tour launched at historic site

A NEW virtual tour has been launched of one of the city's historic properties.

The National Trust for Scotland said the downloadable app would allow users an online tour of Charlotte Square's Georgian House.

There are also iPad tours of many of the charity's other historic properties, including Falkland Palace in Fife and Holmwood House in Glasgow.

Colin MacConnachie, the trust's head of learning, said: "These tours make our properties accessible for so many more people and give an excellent experience for those who just can't make it to properties.

"It's almost as good as being there. Even if you're snowed in this Christmas, you can still enjoy our amazing places."

The NTS has also worked with VisitScotland and Historic Scotland to create an iPhone app which provides information about attractions across Scotland, including the trust's properties.
