Village gets the big idea

VILLAGERS will discuss the next stage in their "I love Kirknewton" campaign at a meeting tomorrow.

A consultation to help shape the future of the West Lothian community was launched last month.

Development officer Ton Foster said: "We received over 500 views from the village - roughly 25 per cent of the community - including 198 from the primary school, 26 from pupils from Kirknewton at the Balerno High School consultation and the rest from adults in the village."

The feedback will be discussed at tomorrow's "Your Big Idea" drop-in event, which runs from 10am-5pm in Kirknewton Village Hall.

"People will be able to prioritise and contribute further to the suggestions we received," Mr Foster added.
