Standing 156 metres above the Forth, the view from the top of the tower offers breathtaking views of the adjacent Forth Rail Bridge and Edinburgh.

The Scotsman photographer Jane Barlow took her camera to the top of the bridge to let our readers see the Firth of Forth from a unique perspective.

Last month The Scotsman reported that people keen on a VIP trip to the top of the towers would have to pay up to £183 for the privilege.

More than 2000 people will be able to take “tower top trips” next summer as part of celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the bridge.
